As an investigation remains ongoing into an object that struck a United Airlines flight last week, officials might be closer to an answer, according to ABC News.

The flight reportedly was diverted to Salt Lake City after an object cracked the plane’s windshield at 36,000 feet, causing the pilot to be injured. Images of the damaged windshield were first shared on social media by aviation account JonNYC .

On Monday night, WindBorne Systems, a long-duration smart weather balloon company, released a statement saying the object that struck the flight might have been a weather balloon from the company.
