The Boston Police Department launched an investigation after a dead body was found in Roxbury on Thursday morning.

A spokesperson for the police department Thursday confirmed there was a dead body, did not reveal the person’s identity to MassLive.

At 9:08 a.m., officers responded to a report of a body being found in the area of 157 Dewitt Dr., according to the spokesperson.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene. The spokesperson said the death was deemed suspicious. No suspects or persons of interest have been identified. An investigation is underway, according to the spokesperson. No further information was provided.
