Team India’s Asia Cup hero Tilak Varma has opened up about a previously undisclosed health crisis he faced in 2022, revealing that he was diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis — a rare and potentially life-threatening condition caused by rapid muscle breakdown.

In a recent interaction, the Mumbai Indians batter recalled being rushed to the hospital from the field after his muscles stiffened so severely that his gloves had to be cut off mid-game.

Tilak shared that his relentless training and lack of proper recovery led to the illness.
