The historic gazebo that originally served as a dome on top of the Uintah Stake Tabernacle has been moved from the park on 500 North 1000 West in Vernal. The dome was donated to the community and renovated to be the park’s gazebo in the 90’s. In 2024, Uintah Special Service District 1 announced the need to relocate the gazebo because of its rotting base, ongoing graffiti, and not being ADA accessible. Public input made it clear that the community did not want to see the historic structure disposed of. USSD1 Executive Director Cheryl Meier announced in August that the gazebo would be moving from the park to a new home at the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Museum on 500 West across from its original home, the Tabernacle that now serves as the Vernal Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
