If you get to the World Series, you’re going to face one of the best pitchers in baseball in Game 1.
That’s pretty much guaranteed, but Blake Snell is as tough a matchup for the Toronto Blue Jays as you will find and they’ll have to come up with some answers for the big left-hander that previously have eluded them.
That’s putting it mildly . Toronto hitters have batted .195 with on-base and slugging percentages below .300 against Snell in 16 regular-season games and 40 of the 55 hits against him were singles.
Bo Bichette has one hit in nine plate appearances against Snell (and two walks) while Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has one hit in 12 at-bats, but has drawn three walks.
The good news for Blue Jays fans is a lot of the team’s struggles against him came by players no longer on the roster.
