RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Traner Middle School wrestling team is proving that hard work pays off, both on the mat and in the classroom.
Head coach Dustin Nevins says wrestling for these student athletes has changed their lives. They are learning and building confidence, dedication, and teamwork. “I think on the mat it’s being more team leaders working together and collaboration. It also shows in their grades in the classroom. They are helping out other students because this might be an individual sport it is a team sport.”
The wrestling team is made up of both boys and girls. These students who have big dreams of taking the sport to the next level and have plans to go to college. The individual athletes are well on their way, winning consistently in their weight classes. At least one of
