NORFOLK, Mass. —

Three recent deaths at a Massachusetts prison are under investigation, the Department of Correction confirmed on Thursday.

The three inmates, whose names were not provided, died over the past month at MCI-Norfolk, according to a DOC spokesperson. Foul play is not suspected in the deaths.

"Our staff responded immediately in each instance and worked alongside emergency responders to provide life-saving measures. Cause and manners of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and it is premature to speculate at this time," the spokesperson wrote in a statement.
