A TRUCKIE, who has "worked all his life", has been fined thousands of dollars after exceeding the amount of time he is allowed to be on the road without taking a break.
Gregory Michael McRae, 61, appeared before Armidale Local Court on Monday, October 22, where he pleaded guilty to five counts of driving more than the standard maximum time allowed for solo truck drivers.
Magistrate Michael Holmes said the offences were a "great concern to the community" and McRae's record was "pretty bad".
In a statement tendered to the court, police claimed McRae was stopped for routine testing and inspection about 2.15pm on Wednesday, July 23.
