Washington ― Hamtramck Mayor Amer Ghalib faced a battery of hostile questions Thursday from both Republican and Democratic senators on the panel charged with deciding whether to advance to the full Senate his nomination to be U.S. ambassador to Kuwait.
Ghalib, who said this month he maintains the support of President Donald Trump, was repeatedly questioned about his record of anti-Israel remarks and others that senators deemed anti-Semitic.
