More than a third of pet owners sleep with their cat or dog every night. ‌

A study found 37% always share their beds with their four-legged friends . ‌

Women are far more likely to have a furry bedfellow than blokes - 44% compared to 26%. ‌

And dog lovers are more likely to bed down every night with their tail-waggers than cat owners - 47% versus 37%.

Nearly nine in 10 British owners - 87% - claimed the experience of snoozing with a pet was positive.
