Inter Miami announced that Messi, 38, widely regarded as one of the greatest players in soccer's history, has agreed to a contract extension through the end of the 2028 MLS season in a news release shared on its official website Thursday (October 23).

“It makes me really happy to stay here and to continue with this project that, besides being a dream, has become a beautiful reality — playing in this stadium, at Miami Freedom Park.
