Matt Olson had himself a fantastic season as an individual in 2025. His all-around excellence led to him being arguably the best first baseman in all of baseball in 2025 and now the hardware is starting to roll in for Olson. He’s already been named as a nominee for the All-MLB team and is also a finalist for the Gold Glove and the Silver Slugger at first base, as well.

If he wasn’t the easy favorite to win the NL Gold Glove Award at first base, he is now after Sports Info Solutions released their annual Fielding Bible Awards earlier today. Unlike the Gold Gloves, SIS hands out the Fielding Bible Awards on a baseball-wide basis, meaning that they have decided that Matt Olson is the best defensive first baseman in baseball for the 2025 season.
