Medicare, the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade are Australia's most trusted government services, new data shows.

Participants in the 2025 Trust in Australian Public Services survey cited shorter wait times, more helpful staff and easier-to-use digital platforms as contributing to increased trust.

The representative survey of 15,000 people found that, overall, trust in federal public services rose to 62 per cent in 2024-25, a four-percentage-point increase from the previous year, with 12 per cent reporting distrust. Satisfaction with public services was 69 per cent (up one per cent).
