Original Grain closes in Downtown Syracuse, but owner plans ‘new concept’ in new location

Syracuse, N.Y. — Original Grain, a downtown restaurant that specialized in grain bowls and other “California-inspired” dining options , will not reopen after an extended shutdown that began in the summer.

Owner Chris Bily today confirmed the closing of the restaurant at 302 S. Salina St. That’s in the Pike Block building at the highly visible intersection of South Salina and Fayette streets in the heart of downtown.
