YORK COUNTY — York County announced that curbside recycling services will resume in the county in January.
According to the county, it has issued a Notice of Intent to Award for Curbside Trash and Recycling Services to BFI Waste Management Services LLC, doing business as Republic Services of Yorktown.
Republic Services has provided curbside trash collection in York County for nearly 30 years.
The Virginia Peninsulas Public Service Authority Board of Directors voted in September to terminate its curbside recycling contract with Tidewater Fibre Corporation, effective Sept. 30. VPPSA is the regional waste authority.
