A woman began running through potential names for her first puppy during the nearly three-hour drive home from the shelter, and what happened next quickly went viral on TikTok.

Irene Di Prato-Valdez told Newsweek that she originally accompanied a family member to the Front Street Animal Shelter in Sacramento, California, until she spotted an 8-week-old pup barking and whining in the kennel.

"She didn’t have a name yet, just an ID number...The shelter had September 12th as the 'available' date, so I had to leave empty-handed," he said.
