SIKESTON, Mo. (KFVS) - Southeast Missouri Food Bank is expanding the ‘Empty Bowls’ fundraiser by adding a lunch session.
During past events, participants were invited to enjoy a bowl of soup and take home a beautiful hand-crafted bowl at Riverside Potter Studio in Cape Girardeau.
The bowl is to remind the participants of those facing hunger in the Heartland.
Joey Keys, CEO of Southeast Missouri Food Bank, elaborates, “Every bowl represents a neighbor facing hunger, and this event is a meaningful way for the community to help fill those empty bowls.”
On Friday, November 7, supporters can participate in the lunch event for $15 for dine-in and $16 for delivery. Delivery is available in Cape and Jackson with a minimum of five orders per stop. Guests will also receive a commemorative bowl.
