Ukraine is set to request another 200 Bushmaster infantry fighting vehicles be donated by Australia after most of the 120 units donated by Canberra were destroyed.

Kyiv is concerned the Albanese government hasn’t made any additional contributions this calendar year, despite Ukraine facing blistering attacks on its civilian population and creeping Russian advances along the 1,200km frontline.

“What … I’m concerned about (is) that nothing else was committed this year. That’s my concern. I wouldn’t call it a frustration. It’s my concern,” Ukraine's Ambassador to Australia Vasyl Myroshnychenko exclusively told Sky News.

Next week he will meet Defence Minister Richard Marles in Canberra marking their first proper meeting since March.
