Two more 2026 prospects dropped out of Penn State’s recruiting class Wednesday, following the firing of coach James Franklin just over a week ago.

New Jersey Winslow Township star Julian Peterson decommitted from the Nittany Lions . He previously “ reopened” his recruitment just one day after Franklin’s firing , paving the way for him to talk with other schools.

Peterson, a three-star defensive back, had been committed to Penn State since Jan. 25. He ranks No. 630 in the cycle and No. 51 at cornerback, according to the 247Sports composite .

Peterson plays for Penn State letterman Bill Belton, who is now the head coach at Winslow.

After announcing his decommitment, Peterson revealed new offers from Clemson, North Carolina and Wisconsin. He also announced a visit to UNC.
