BLUE MOUNDS, Wis. (WKOW) — Ridglan Farms has filed a lawsuit against the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) for failing to respond to records requests that the animal research company said it made over seven months ago.

The Blue Mounds facility, which is one of only two large breeders of dogs for experimentation in the U.S., claims it has not received any documents since its initial request on March 12, 2025.

Ridglan Farms was established in 1966. It breeds and raises beagles, which are used in research trials.

The lawsuit, filed Wednesday, highlights that critics of Ridglan Farms, such as the activist group Dane4Dogs, have received requested records from DATCP much faster. Additionally, a journalist from the Madison-based Isthmus received records
