After promising to have the National Guard descend upon San Francisco as part of an ongoing effort to punish major Democrat-run cities, President Trump has backed down from the “surge” meant to target immigrants in the Bay Area. In a post on Truth Social , Trump said there will no longer be a “surge” of federal law enforcement that was planned for Saturday, a decision he said was the result of conversations with “friends,” including Nvidia President and CEO Jensen Huang and Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff.
“The Federal Government was preparing to ‘surge’ San Francisco, California, on Saturday, but friends of mine who live in the area called last night to ask me not to go forward with the surge in that the Mayor, Daniel Lurie, was making substantial progress,” he wrote. In his own post on X
