The Karnataka High Court has directed Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd to consider a plea seeking installation of mobile network towers in Bhavani Bijalgao, a remote village in Kamalanagar Taluk of Bidar district, where residents have no mobile connectivity.
The order came from a division bench comprising Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru and Justice C.M. Poonacha while hearing a petition filed by Gurunath Vadde. The petitioner had approached the court stating that residents of the village were unable to access essential government services and welfare benefits due to the lack of mobile network coverage.
