Of the three movies released as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2025, the endings of two of them saw the heroes defeating the villain in the same exact way. After having only one movie in 2024, Marvel returned in 2025 with three theatrical releases, including Captain America: Brave New World , Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps .

On the surface, all three movies were very different. Brave New World saw Sam Wilson's Captain America facing off with Red Hulk, who was being manipulated by The Thinker. Thunderbolts* featured a ragtag group of antiheroes joining forces against a man with god-like powers. First Steps introduced the MCU's Fantastic Four and told the story of them protecting baby Franklin and the world from the planet-eating Galactus.
