LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Drivers could face delays along I-264 starting Friday afternoon as blasting gets underway for a major highway improvement project .

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) said work will begin Oct. 24 around 2 p.m. and continue Monday through Friday as part of the $130 million widening and improvement project along I-264 and U.S. 42 (Brownsboro Road).

During blasting, short roadblocks could last up to 20 minutes. Drivers are urged to use caution, watch for posted signs, and plan for extra time in the area.

The project, aimed at easing congestion and improving traffic flow, is expected to wrap up by fall 2027.
