The reopening date and completion of construction on the Gardiner Expressway has been moved to Nov. 10, according to Ontario Transportation Minister Prabmeet Sarkaria.

The Star reported last week that all six lanes between Dufferin Street and Strachan Avenue could reopen as early as Oct. 27, but cautioned that the World Series could be a factor.

The Oct. 27 date was thrown out the window after the Blue Jays made history and reached the MLB World Series for the first time in 32 years.

Both Sarkaria and Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow said crucial closures would have to be postponed during games against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Toronto which would likely push things back “a couple days.”
