OREGON CITY Ore. (KPTV) - Christine Drazan was appointed to the Oregon Senate by Clackamas, Hood River, Multnomah and Wasco county commissioners on Thursday.

Drazan was chosen to replace State Senator Daniel Bonham after he announced his resignation on Sept. 15, which became effective on Oct. 5. In his announcement, he endorsed Drazan to be appointed to serve the remainder of his term, which ends on Jan. 11, 2027.

Under Oregon law, Bonham’s replacement was chosen by district county commissioners from finalists selected by the local Republican Party, of which Drazan was one. The session was held over Zoom and will be archived on Clackamas County’s YouTube Channel, the county said.

Drazan now represents Senate District 26, which includes voters in Clackamas, Hood River, Multnomah and Wasc
