(WTHR) - Mitch Daniels is speaking out against redistricting, writing an Op-Ed in The Washington Post on Wednesday.
The former Indiana governor says the nationwide push to gerrymander states in a battle for control of Congress after the 2026 midterm elections prompted a ‘temporary departure’ from his policy of sitting out of partisan politics.
“While the outcome sought is one I support, the tactic being employed to get there is not, and I hope earnestly that my state’s leaders will politely decline to participate.”
According to Daniels, Indiana Republicans have fair representation in Indiana, with the party holding seven of the state’s nine congressional seats.
