SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — Gov. JB Pritzker signed an executive order Thursday creating the Illinois Accountability Commission . The group's goal is to document examples of misconduct by federal agents during Operation Midway Blitz.

The Pritzker administration said it must protect human rights and restore public trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

"This is about standing up for Illinois values when federal leadership has abandoned the American principles that all of us hold dear," said Illinois Department of Human Rights Director Jim Bennett.
