SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - Beginning Monday October 27, the intersection of Clark Road and Bishop Road will be closed.
Road crews will spend around three months turning the current four-way stop into a roundabout in an effort to lower the number of accidents and help with traffic control.
Spartanburg County Transportation Engineer John Wade said these two roads are very busy and often the scene of accidents.
"This is being done because of the traveling public. We want to keep everyone safe on the roads and we feel like this was the best solution for this intersection that saw something upwards of 15 accidents over a five-year span," Wade explained.
The Clark and Bishop Road closures will impact surrounding streets: Calvery, Stallion, Bryant, and Royston.
