On Thursday, the Washington Commanders announced that quarterback Jayden Daniels has been ruled out for the team’s Monday Night Football contest against the Kansas City Chiefs due to a recent hamstring injury. The Commanders will host the Seattle Seahawks at Northwest Stadium for Sunday Night Football in Week 9.

Daniels was taken out in the third quarter of Sunday’s 44-22 loss vs. the Dallas Cowboys, completing 12 of 22 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown and rushing for 35 yards and another TD before exiting with a hamstring strain. Per ESPN’s John Keim, Commanders head coach Dan Quinn says that Daniels’s injury “was not significant,” but the team is choosing to have him sit for MNF to avoid worsening his condition.
