ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Matthews Auto presented a check for $11,226 to the Child Advocacy Center of Greater Rochester Thursday, following the company’s seventh annual Walkathon to benefit local children’s charities.

The walkathon, held virtually on October 4, encouraged participants to register and log their miles on the Matthews website. For every mile walked, Matthews Auto donated $10 to the participant’s chosen charity.

This year’s event supported 13 children’s charities across Binghamton, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, and Scranton, Pennsylvania. Matthews Auto also matched cash donations up to $12,500 and offered additional incentives for larger donations through its Matthews Cash Voucher program.
