FOXBOROUGH – After missing most of training camp and the first three weeks of the season, Christian Gonzalez was thrown back into the fire.
The All-Pro cornerback played 71% of the Patriots defensive snaps in his first game back, against the Carolina Panthers. By next week, in Buffalo, Gonzalez was back to playing every defensive snap for the Patriots.
Admittedly, after missing so much time, Gonzalez didn’t quite feel like himself when he rejoined his teammates this season. After playing in his fourth game of the season in Tennessee, Patriots cornerback coach Justin Hamilton said he feels like Gonzalez is starting to feel like his old self.
“To me, it feels like he’s starting to settle in to having his game legs,” Hamilton said. “I know the first game, I talked to him afterwards,
