Three Rivers Ambulance Authority board members today gave Allen County two more months to reach an agreement to compensate the agency’s emergency medical dispatch services.
Board members said talks were moving in the right direction and deserve more time to continue.
Michael Manz, director of operations, said the ambulance authority's goal is to remain the county’s emergency medical dispatch provider.
“We think that service is very valuable to the citizens of Allen County, and we think it saves lives, frankly,” he said. “So, we don’t want to discontinue that. We want to have more time so that we can try to work out some type of an arrangement.”
Board members in September gave the county a 30-day notice of their intent to stop providing dispatch services.
