Covering sports, and in particular hockey, has been a passion of mine for a long time. Next month, I will celebrate 42 years in the sportswriting business.

But there is another passion of mine, and it’s music. I’m a big fan of The Beatles, love classic rock and, especially, 1980s music. I was a college DJ at York College of Pennsylvania’s WVYC-AM 640 and FM 88 from 1981-85. That was a memorable time in music because MTV was just starting, and there were new and exciting bands and singers coming along. It was a great time to be a DJ.
