PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Recent interstate shootings, including the latest that took place Thursday morning on I-464 in Chesapeake, have brought awareness to instances of road rage.

Virginia State Police is investigating the latest shooting, which brings the total number of interstate shootings in Virginia this year to 52, though they've previously told 10 On Your Side they believe some — not all — of these shootings have stemmed from road rage incidents.

And while the overall number of interstate shootings is down compared to the previous two years, State Police and AAA are reminding folks on how to stay safe on the roadways.
