AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) - The election is less than two weeks away, and many municipalities will be taking up questions specific to their communities.
In Augusta, residents will be voting on a bond of nearly $5.4 million to pay for improvements throughout the capital city.
Those include repairs and renovations to fire department equipment as well as repairs to various streets and updates to the Augusta Civic Center.
City Manager Jared Mills says these could be viewed as investments meaning if they don’t put money into them now, they could be more expensive in the future.
Mills says these improvements can also add to the attraction of the city for both visitors and those looking to move to the area.
