The 2025-26 university basketball season launches this Friday and Saturday night at Laurentian and will feature something old and something new for Voyageurs fans.

The new includes a scoreboard to replace the vintage one that spent the last two seasons — at least — emitting signals it was more than ready to retire.

The Voyageurs were scheduled to play their OUA West Division rivals from Western on Friday night and Windsor on Saturday, with the women to tip off at 6 p.m. and the men at 8 p.m.

Also new: it’s the first time head coach Jason Hurley can recall daughters of Lady Vees alumnae playing for the Voyageurs.

Madison Peak, a first-year forward from Nepean, has come to Sudbury to study criminology. She’s is the daughter of Martha Sandilands Peak.
