WEBB CITY, Mo. — No. 1-seed Webb City High School got out to a 2-0 set lead over No. 9 Springfield Catholic High School and used that advantage to get past a gritty effort from the Irish in the third set. The Cardinals claimed a 25-16 win in Set 3 to finish off the sweep Wednesday night inside the Cardinal Dome.

Webb City (22-10) earned 25-14 and 25-15 wins in the first two sets of the night. It will move on to face No. 5 Hillcrest High School (8-19-2), which defeated No. 4 Bolivar High School (12-19-3) in straight sets as well. That matchup with the Hornets is set for 11 a.m. Saturday. ×
