A single-wide trailer caught fire Thursday at an Aguanga resort, damaging the vehicle but not extending into surrounding vegetation after firefighters deployed to the location.

The non-injury blaze was reported at 2:52 p.m. Thursday between Sorensen and Foolish Pleasure roads, just south of Highway 371, at a private resort known as Elm Hot Springs, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency stated that multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames burning within the detached trailer.

Black smoke columns rising from the location prompted numerous calls to 911, mainly from motorists driving along Highway 371, assuming there was a brush fire, according to the California Highway Patrol.
