The Kansas Air National Guard's 184th Wing at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita will play an expanded role in advancing the nation's defense against small unmanned aerial systems.

Air Combat Command, a division of the U.S. Air Force , has selected the 184th Wing to join a newly established Point Defense Task Force and serve as an operating location for a Point Defense Battle Lab, according to announcements earlier this week from Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) and Rep. Ron Estes (R-Wichita).
