Louisville women's basketball now will open its 2025-26 season by playing UConn at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland , on Nov. 4, a source with direct knowledge of the plans for the game told The Courier Journal on Thursday night.
No. 20 U of L and No. 1 UConn were originally supposed to play the third game of a four-year contract at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany on Nov. 4. But the continued government shutdown, now in its 23rd day, prevented that from happening. It's now the second-longest shutdown in modern history , trailing only the shutdown of December 2018-January 2019 (34 days during President Donald Trump's first term).
