A metro woman is speaking out on how the state could be putting victims of domestic violence at risk. Taylor Davis said her ex-boyfriend, a convicted abuser on probation, went unchecked for months by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
The domestic abuse survivor said her journey for justice has been long. Five years of fearing for her safety while Vincent Givens, 34, evaded authorities.
"He broke my nose, he's strangled me multiple times, killed our dog," said Davis.
Davis was granted a Victim's Protective Order in 2020 and thought her problems were over when Givens was sentenced to prison for domestic abuse.
"Two months after he got out of prison, he violated the VPO," said Davis. "But while he was in prison, he was still contacting me as well."
