On Thursday (Oct. 23), Brazil and Indonesia signed a series of memoranda and cooperation agreements in various areas during President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s official visit to the Indonesian capital, Jakarta.

In a statement to the press, the presidents of the two countries said they share common views and positions on the situation in Gaza, the need for reform of the United Nations Security Council, and the role of BRICS in defending the interests of the Global South.

Upon confirming his candidacy for the 2026 presidential election, Lula said that he and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will hold new meetings to further strengthen relations between the two countries.
