SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - As the United States Postal Service changes policies, election officials remind absentee voters to mail out their ballot as soon as possible.
As USPS reorganizes, some changes could affect how quickly your ballot gets delivered. USPS recently changed Priority Mail from a one-day guarantee to a three-day guarantee. In addition, 540 Missouri zip codes are experiencing reduced postal service, with mail carriers now only delivering once a day. This policy change is part of the USPS’s reorganization under the new postmaster general.
Because of these changes, election officials are encouraging absentee voters to mail their ballots at least a week in advance, which for the November municipal election means right about now.
