Edward Rogers was standing on the giant stage Monday night, not certain what was going on or what he was supposed to do, taking in all that was his first American League championship celebration.

It was more than a scene. It was absolutely overwhelming for the chairman of the Blue Jays and the de-facto owner of the club.

“I have to admit, I didn’t realize there was a whole process to this at this level,” said Rogers in a rare and exclusive interview with the Jays very private chairman.

“I wasn’t sure what to do (on the presentation stage).”

He didn’t hold the American League championship trophy for very long before passing it on. “The whole thing was spectacular and fantastic and humbling,” said Rogers in a rare exclusive interview with The Toronto Sun.
