VAN ZANDT COUNTY, Texas (KETK)-- A man responsible for a fatal shooting that took place in Kaufman County in 2023 was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Thursday.

According to the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office, Trevor McEuen was found guilty of capital murder on Thursday following the murder of Aaron Martinez, which took place in May 2023 in Kaufman County.

Martinez was killed on Neal Road in Forney. Following his death, officials said deputies found a victim dead inside the driver's side of a new black Ford Pickup with several gunshot wounds. Outside the pickup, they found a shell casing from a firearm.
