Alaska Airlines grounded all flights nationwide on Thursday (October 23) due to an IT outage affecting operations. The airline requested a ground stop from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as it works to resolve the issue. In a statement, Alaska Airlines apologized for the inconvenience and advised passengers scheduled to fly to check their flight status before heading to the airport.

The airline has not provided a timeline for when operations might resume. The disruption comes amid other operational challenges for Alaska Air Group , including higher fuel costs and adverse weather conditions, which have affected its profit margins in 2025.
