LANSING — Anne Minard, a former staff member to ex-Michigan House Speaker Lee Chatfield (R-Levering), pled guilty to two felony charges in the 30th Circuit Court in Ingham County. It’s a plea agreement that will likely mean she won’t have to spend any time behind bars.

The charges, brought by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, include embezzlement and filing a false tax return. Minard was originally charged in December of 2024 with multiple felonies for misappropriating funds from three non-profit organizations and two political action committees linked to Chatfield.

As part of her plea deal, Minard will provide testimony in future hearings and pay restitution to the Michigan Department of Treasury. Her sentencing is scheduled for December 3.
