WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - Hutchinson Public Schools USD 308 is asking voters to approve nearly $110 million for improvements to upgrade elementary schools, add gyms, centralize early childhood education, and create a new middle school.
Superintendent Dr. Dawn Johnson says the bond is meant to upgrade multiple schools in the district. She believes the district is too spread out among various buildings.
"Fifteen years ago, when we had a higher population, students had an outstanding education. We want the best education for the 4,000 students going forward. We know Hutchinson is a viable community. It's going to be here for a long time, and we want the best education for these students going forward," she said.
