LOCKPORT, N.Y. — The entire Starpoint Central School District went on lockdown on Wednesday.

Superintendent Sean Croft, through a statement, said a technical system error triggered the alarm around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday and that the technology department is working to make sure that same error does not happen again.

Croft added that there was never an actual threat or emergency, but staff is available to any student that may have been affected by the lockdown.

Croft issued a statement on Thursday, following the lockdown. Here's what he said, in full:

The Starpoint Central School District went into a district-wide lockdown at approximately 10:45am on Wednesday, October 22. The alert was triggered by a technical system error, and there was no actual threat or emergency situation anywhere
